Through the School of Citizen Advocacy and Leadership, we create spaces for dialogue and coordination among communities, Incauca, and the municipal administration, to contribute to strengthening an active citizenry that constructively influences local public management.
With this initiative, we have trained 124 people and impacted around 2,500, mostly women, diverse populations, workers, and social collectives in the 5 municipalities within our area of influence. (Miranda, Padilla, Puerto Tejada, Corinto, and Villa Rica).
In 2020, this project began, aimed at improving the educational quality of the Institution. With this intervention, we have contributed to closing inequality gaps among children and adolescents, as it enhances their access to higher education. We impact 1,000 students, 56 teachers, and 120 fathers, mothers, and caregivers.
Additionally, we integrated 5 learning spaces: 4 libraries, 1 computer room equipped with teaching materials, school furniture, computers, and internet service; sanitary units, roof improvements, and other contributions necessary for quality education.
In partnership with the Carvajal Foundation, we promote the Educational Quality Improvement program in three public educational institutions in Padilla, Cauca, benefiting 227 primary school students and 19 teachers. Through pedagogical strategies and family support, we strengthen competencies in language and mathematics, fostering favorable learning environments.
Among the main results are teacher training, more than 250 classroom support sessions for teachers, and work with 60 families through interactive learning tools, strengthening reading habits, support for learning at home, and family participation.
Thanks to the joint work among teachers, students, families, and strategic allies, between 2024 and 2025 a reduction of 16 percentage points in learning poverty was achieved in grades one to four and 13 percentage points in grade five, accompanied by improvements in reading comprehension. We are currently continuing to develop the third phase of the program, reaffirming our commitment to rural education and the comprehensive development of communities.
University scholarships for young people who are children of employees and residents of our area of influence
With the objective of contributing to the education of young people from our area of influence and providing them with access to quality higher education, through the university scholarship program, we have awarded 18 academic scholarships for higher education studies at ICESI University for 100% of the tuition value, throughout all semesters established in the study plan.
In a continuous effort to strengthen communities and promote female leadership, Incauca, through the "Women Weaving Territory" project, has had a significant impact since its launch in indigenous and Afro-descendant populations. In its third phase, the program has benefited 24 women in Guachené, 19 in Miranda, 28 in Padilla, and now expands to Villa Rica, incorporating 30 new participants from these areas.
It is a comprehensive program that offers workshops and activities focused on leadership, gender, sexual identity, human rights, and business skills. This approach not only strengthens their individual abilities and fosters economic independence but also empowers participants to become active agents of social, cultural, and economic development in their communities.
